Isara Youth Council’s Position on the Petition by Isara Socio-Economic Vanguard
The Isara Youth Council hereby expresses its full support and solidarity with the Isara Socio-Economic Vanguard on the petition submitted to the Ogun State Government and the Ogun State House of Assembly concerning the excessive quarry activities and illegal ticketing operations in Isara-Remo.
We acknowledge that the unchecked operations of quarries and the indiscriminate collection of tickets have led to environmental degradation, destruction of roads, threats to public safety, and economic hardship for residents of Isara-Remo, particularly the youth and vulnerable members of the community.
The Isara Youth Council strongly believes that development must be lawful, regulated, and people-centered. We therefore align with the call for:
• Proper regulation and monitoring of quarry operations
• An end to excessive and unauthorized ticketing
• Accountability of relevant agencies and operators
• Protection of the environment and community infrastructure
• Inclusion of host community interests in all economic activities
We urge the Ogun State Government and the House of Assembly to give prompt and serious attention to this petition in the interest of justice, sustainable development, and community peace.
The Isara Youth Council remains committed to peaceful advocacy and constructive engagement to safeguard the socio-economic wel-being of Isara-Remo.
Signed:
Com, Bashir Soyemi
President, Isara Youth Council
