A Historic Day in Isara Remo: Installation of High Chief Tajudeen Babatunde Kolapo as the New Apena of Isara

History was made today, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in the ancient town of Isara Remo, as His Royal Highness, Oba Peter Oluwole Ogunbayo (Otete III), the Odemo of Isara Remo, officially installed Chief Kolapo Tajudeen Ajanlekoko as the new Apena of Isara Remo.

This momentous event marks the continuation of a revered tradition rooted in equity, balance, and communal unity.
In Isara, the chieftaincy of the Apena is not hereditary, rather, it operates under a well-gazetted rotational system between two quarters: Igbo-Abe and Ajina.

Across generations, several distinguished individuals have occupied the office of Apena of Isara. Many Apena served long before systematic documentation was preserved. Like Apena Adeona during the reign of Odemo Mayungbe Ayoledoye, Apena Ogunfowora during the reign of Odemo Ogunmefun Ojokoboye and Odemo Poke Onabajo etc.
Research is an ongoing process.
Though some of their names may not be widely recorded today, their contributions remain foundational to the strength and endurance of the institution.
Among those remembered in more recent history are:
- High Chief George Leshi (Alamure-Oye)
- High Chief Ogunmuyiwa Ogunfowodu

Following the transition of High Chief Olufemi Soyombo, who served as the Apena of Isara Remo from Itun-Abe quarters (2001 – January 23, 2026),
Chief Tajudeen Babatunde Kolapo has stepped up from Ajina quarters to assume this prestigious office, while the next Ekeji Apena (Deputy Apena) returns to the Itun-Abe quarters.

Warmest congratulations to my very dear and beloved Baba, High Chief Tajudeen Babatunde Kolapo Omo Ajanlekoko, on your worthy elevation as the Apena of Isara Remo! Oloko Aroti, O fai nediye Ra Ago!
Ewe Oye a mon yin lori, sir.
Ven ti fu Omode je, Ven a fu Agba lo N’agbara Olorun ati t’Osi Isara. Ulu Isara E ni boje. Dede Omo Isara a ni daamu.

May your reign bring abundant peace, progress, and tranquility to the land.
Long live Baba Apena of Isara Remo!
Long live Kabiyesi, Odemo of Isara Remo!
God bless our beloved hometown, Isara Remo, Afotamodi K’ogun Ma Wolu!
God bless me,
