Ojà Oba Ìsarà Rémo - My Hometown’s Historical, Sprawling, Thriving, and Burstling Hub of Trade Activities - Lanre Fidelity

 OJÀ OBA, ÌSARÀ RÉMO❤️😍

MY HOMETOWN’S HISTORICAL, BURSTLING, SPRAWLING AND THRIVING HUB OF TRADE ACTIVITY

Hometown is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends. One of the best memories about our hometown is tied to the marketplaces there

Get up early every 3 days and go to the town market, which is usually a great place to find delicious food stalls, authentic and fresh specialities, and local commodities.

Oja Oba at Isara Remo is a popular market in Remo Land, the biggest in the Remo North Local Government, located at the town’s centre, Yes! The marketplace shares a neighbourhood with Churches and mosques,

It's an ancient market which is usually open for business every 3 days, History reveals and traces its existence to centuries ago during the reign of Odemo Adebimpe Erinsiba, the 4th Odemo of Isara who was the first Baale of Imagbon before he became the Odemo of Isara

Going by the location of the market, you would recall in the earlier historical update that Adeyemo Odemo, the founder of Isara, had earlier settled in the OKEREKERE area now known as Akuro/Saapade/Orile, which is an offshoot of the Oja Oba, not far from the Iledi Osugbo, Igbo-Oro, Igbo-Osi, Iledi Egugun, Ipebi, etc. Thus, the beginning of a town called ISARA was defined.

That's just a historical excerpt anyway. I'm not going deep into history today, but I deviate a little bit just to tell us that the OJA OBA we are seeing here is one of Isara's tourist attractions, one of which the sons and daughters of Isara Remo can be proud of because it is historical, and many puzzling facts are attached to the marketplace. It is an institution on its own! It's indeed an ADIITU (Mystery).

Presently, trading activities have been moved from the main marketplace to the Ago-Aro area towards the main road and the reason is known to everyone and that's whats the norms and tradition entail; it's a traditional way of paying homage, respect or an art of tradition of the land when an Odemo joins his ancestors, It should continue like that until the mourning period is over and that's always maximum of 3 months or as otherwise decided by the Iyaloja and Babaloja.

The Iyaloja of Isara is Alhaja Taibat Akinyemi and the Babaloja is Alhaji Muraina Balogun, They are the custodian of the market affairs, they are like a king and queen in the market, They coordinate the market affairs, they work with the Pampas and the Local Government to put the market in order, They report to the Odemo of Isara, who they are there to represent as the Oba can not be everywhere

Frankly speaking, the market begs for attention and a facelift, it's no longer wide enough to accommodate the traders every 3days, there is no parking space for vehicles, and there are a lot of challenges being faced by traders in the market as far as I know.

The last time the market was widened was during the tenure of Chief Pekun Awobona when he was serving as the Chairman of Remo North Local Government, Many people had to forfeit their houses and were allocated a newly built self contain at Orile Market.

I am of the opinion that the market needs such a gesture again at this point, It is a blessing to our hometown that people from all walks of life are coming to the market every 3 days to buy and sell, We need to make it conducive for them.

The market is generating a meaningful percentage of revenue for the local government and if the government invest more in its facelift, it should generate more revenue

This is one of the works the incoming Odemo of Isara should have in mind,

We want an Odemo that loves Isara passionately, is energetic, transformative, innovative, government-friendly friendly and ready to lobby for good initiatives for the people of Isara.

If an Odemo is ready! The Oja Oba will surely wear a different face

That's the stage we are now in the history of our hometown, well-meaning Isara sons and daughters are hopeful and fervently praying to God for a passionate and innovative king, someone who is known for their goodness for the town long before now. It would just be a continuous service to Isara for him, someone who knows where the present community development is and is ready to continue from there and not someone who would just have to start afresh.

God will help us to get it right at this crucial time,

We are very much hopeful and looking forward to a new king to emerge

We love Isara, it's our hometown and it's also a great town

God bless Isara Remo,

Afotamodi Kogun Ma Wolu,

God bless all the sons and daughters of Isara
