Isara Youth Council Meets with the Kingmakers



As the Otete Ruling House and the Kingmakers of Isara prepare for the historic selection of the next Odemo of Isara, the Isara Youth Council (IYC) has taken a bold step to ensure transparency, peace, and unity in the process.


On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, the IYC executives, led by Comrade Bashir Soyemi (President), met with the Kingmakers at the Palace of the Odemo of Isara. The youth body presented a well-prepared document that reflected the collective voice of the patriotic youth of Isara on the ongoing selection process.



The Oluwo of Isara, Chief Sodade, and the Apena of Isara, Chief Soyombo, warmly received the delegation and praised the IYC for their thoughtfulness and intervention.


🔑 Highlights from the Meeting:


✅ Purpose of the Visit:

Appreciation of the Kingmakers.

Appeal for a peaceful and transparent process.

Call to avoid litigations that may drag the town backward.


✅ IYC’s Key Demands:

A peaceful selection process.

Consideration of candidates’ past contributions to the development of Isara.

Strict adherence to due process and constitution.

Timely installation of the new Odemo.



✅ Reactions from the Palace:

The Oluwo of Isara, Chief Sodade, called for unity and prayers from Christians, Muslims, and Traditionalists alike, saying:

“Isara needs prayer to guide us through and to help us choose the rightful candidate.”

The Apena of Isara, Chief Soyombo, assured the youth that the Kingmakers are committed to presenting the best candidate for the stool.

We assure you that the Otete Ruling House, stakeholders, and leaders are working diligently to ensure Isara gets a new Oba without delay.

It’s 51 days today, on the 1st of May, 2025, when the news of the passing to the great beyond of my very dear and beloved friend, father and highly revered Isara Remo Monarch, Alayeluwa Oba Albert Adebose Mayungbe, (Erinsiba III) joined his ancestors in playing chess of immortality. Since then, the community has continued to follow the due process according to the rules of the government and the tradition of the land.
