ISARA REMO: ILEYA 2023: ISARA HOPE FOR WIDOWS FOUNDATION PRESENTED ILEYA GIFTS TO ISARA WIDOWS.


Today, 22nd of June, 2023, the Isara Hope for Widows Foundation had the 4th edition of giving away food items and cash gifts to widows in Isara in light of the coming Ileya festival at Central Mosque, Isara Remo, Ogun State. 


The Foundation was pioneered by Dupe Oshinsanya and Dorcas Funmi Adenekan-Leshi. The initiative was birth to alleviate suffering and to empower widows. Members of the organization are in various countries such as the US, UK, Dublin, Nigeria, and other parts of the world. 


Muslim clerics and widows from various mosques such as Temidire, Moborode, Olorunsogo, Ayegbesin, Oke Ola, etc converged at the central mosque for the event. Amongst Islamic clerics present were Alfa Abduramon, Alfa Yaaya Alafon, Alfa Abdusemiu Mogaji, Imam Anjola, etc. 


Alhaji Taiwo Bakare gave a speech stating the antecedents, aims, and visions of the organization thus; “We started with Christians four years ago with just  20 packs of rice. Fast forward to today, we have more than a hundred packs of food Items made available for the widows”. 


“Moving on, there are plans to empower widows in areas of Small & Medium enterprises“. Alhaji  Taiwo reiterated. 



Alfa Shehu Yahaya Alafon spoke extensively on the benefits of giving. Various excerpts and recitations from the Quran were used to back up his sermon. He stated that God is happy with those that give when it is convenient and when it is not. Words of prayers were extended to the organizers of the program.





The foundation anthem was recited by members of the organization there present. 


The food items were distributed adequately to the widows. The smiles on the faces of the widow filled the mosque and a vote of thanks was made by recipients. 


The closing prayer was made by Alhaji Ahmad Opeyemi Olohungbo.

  IN MEMORY OF ODEMO SAMUEL ADETAYO AKISANYA, AFONLADE II ODEMO OF ISARA REMO (1941 - 1985) 126TH BIRTHDAY IN POSTHUMOUS  - The attached video is 56 years old.  When the palace of Great Saki Oba Samuel Akisanya, The late Odemo of Isara was razed down by an irate mob in 1968.  - He was one of the great Nigerian Nationalists and that was his palace where the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo was a regular visitor.  - Odemo Samuel Adetayo Akisanya was born in Isara on the 1st of August, 1898 (126 years ago today)... - HRH S.A Akisanya was a member of the Nigerian Youth Movement. Other members of the Movement which was at that time a quasi-political/pressure group were Nnamdi Azikiwe, Ernest Ikoli, Alvan Ikoku, Akinola Maja, H.O.
