ISARA AFOTAMODI, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IS NOT A ONE MAN SHOW...

ISARA AFOTAMODI,
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IS NOT A ONE MAN SHOW...

Saheed

The United Nations defines community development as "a process where community members come together to take collective action and generate solutions to common problems."

It is the duty of man to ensure that the society is better, if all well-to-do and enlightened indigenes all over Nigeria take time to develop their respective communities, if all can take out time to replicate what obtains where they live in their communities, however remote,  in their respective communities,  Nigeria as a collective whole will become a developed nation.

Today, I want to talk about our palace, the palace of the Odemo of Isara. It is worthy of note that the first Odemo of Isara to make use of the palace is the current Kabiyesi, our own Ilufemiloye, Alaiyeluwa oba Alabert Adebose Mayungbe, Erinsiba III, the 37th Odemo of Isara.

Meanwhile, the laying of the palace stone took place on the 2nd of October, 1982 an Afotamodi festival day.

Another phase of construction work continued at the palace following the transition of the late Odemo Onadeko and towards fast preparation to have new Odemo in the year 2011.

The construction process wat rushed with the view that Isara would soon have new Odemo to make use of the palace. Many commitments and donations were recorded in cash and in kind by sons and daughters of Isara.

In 2018, following the court decision that prompted the emergence of the Erinsiba III as the Odemo of Isara, it was resolved that Kaabiyesi, the new Odemo elect would be resuming to the virgined palace after leaving the traditional sacred house "IPEBI".

The youths of Isara quickly decided to take care of the uncompleted palace in preparation of the Alaiyeluwa's coming to the palace. The whole place was cleaned up, getting rid of honeybees and other harmful insects.

Being a palace which have been abandoned for so long, the Odemo himself spent a lot of money in order to make the place habitable for him.

Since 2018, following baba's arrival to the palace, the place has since been under constant community patronage for community affairs, traditional functions, meetings, church crusades and special visitation to the Odemo of Isara. Although the palace phases and other parts of the palace remain uncompleted.

The new ICDA came on board towards late 2019 making the complete removal and instant replacement of the palace roof the top priority on their agenda.

The Isara community development association under the distinguished leadership of Mr. Benson Olusesan Lawal fulfiled their patriotic promise of re-roofing of the palace after 2019 Afotamodi.

ODEMO PALACE NOW HAS A NEW LOOK...
In his bid to contribute his own part into the development of Isara, chief. Segun Ganiyu, the new Seriki of Isara, a patriotic citizen, is presently rebranding the look of the palace phase as I write...

The Odemo palace you use to know is now a changed place entirely, our palace is now been beautified and transformed into a five star photo shoot gallery, revealing the pictorial view about historical components of note since time immemorial, The palace fence is now been immortalized with series of cultural inscriptions that you will like to see.

All these are individual decision and input of an illustrious son of Isara who takes up a chieftaincy title in the palace soon after the lockdown.

Chief Segun Ganiyu the new Seriki of Isara being a thoughtful philanthropist of note who deem it fit by giving to Isara before taking from it. Anytime you visit the palace, you will now be welcomed at the gate with "AAFIN ODEMO TI ISARA" inscribed at the main entrance of the palace.

The above is just to encourage the sons and daughters of Isara at home and abroad to join hands together in oneness, to unite for the benefit of Isara. Just like other great philanthropists that have spring up in Isara, Isara still needs people like chief Segun Ganiyu to initiate more developmental projects for the growth of Isara.

If we continue to nurture grudges, Isara will suffer it, if we share political difference, Isara will suffer it and that's the happiness of the enemies of Isara who doesn't want Isara to grow.

It takes us nothing to unite, let's support and rally around our Odemo of Isara and the Development Associations  in order to take Isara to the next level.

We can't continue in this factional composition and expect progress, we need to unite in order to progress. If we let bye-gone be bye-gone then Isara will reach for the required stars.

Coming together in oneness spirit is the only key through which we can achieve our unobstructable community development purpose.

Community development should not be seen as one man show, Isara community development association is just a body representing community interest, the real community development is in individual citizens of Isara.

Coming together of thousands of us with common motive to develop Isara is the required ingredient that will propel the progress Isara requires.

Community development is not a one man show, all hands must be on deck, Isara is our home apart from heaven, it is an ancient town that we all will always fall back at sometimes later.

It's the only historical place that define who we really are. Isara is our home, let's unite and come together to make it great. Let's continue to be a proudly citizens of Isara Remo.

God bless the Odemo of Isara,
God bless the Chief Segun Ganiyu Seriki of Isara,
God bless Isara Community Development Association
God bless Isara Youth Council
God bless the sons and daughters of Isara and always show them more reasons to contribute to the development of Isara,
our dear Jerusalem.
